The New York Times ran this item on Wednesday: When you think of great pop artists known for serving up cheerful, Technicolor slices of Americana, the name of Philip Glass ... is perhaps not the first that comes to mind. Nonetheless, New York City Opera has commissioned him to write a new work about Walt Disney, City Opera announced on Monday. The work, “The Perfect American,” will be an adaptation of Peter Stephan Jungk’s novel “Der König von Amerika,” an account of the life and career of Disney told from the point of view of a fictional animator named Wilhelm Dantine. The premiere is scheduled to open the 2012-13 season of the City Opera; a production of Mr. Glass’s “Einstein on the Beach” is scheduled for its 2009-10 season. | ![]() |

Нет, не совсем. Но я дожила хотя бы до объявления! *делает росчерк о поездке в Нью Йорк в 2012*
Опера. Просто опера. Просто опера о Диснее. Then why on earth do I nosebleed?
Это же прямо как в сказке, только в жизни и лучше.
Потрясающе!
