Звёзды сложились ромбиком, и я, опоздав на все связанные с сабжем праздники жизни, начала смотреть аватара. Впервые. Да.
I'M NOT SURE WHAT MY FEELS ARE DOING.Зато я уверена в том что сегодня-завтра у меня будет жесточайшая ломка, ведь я его досмотрю. Но пока и трава зелена и птицы певучи.
И жизнь прекрасна.
упд: 'k i'm done; and what a wild ride it was.

Признаюсь, да, я уже три дня ждала светлого момента использования этого гифа в посте. Guilty as charged.
Ok, where to start... Oh, I had my own drinking game! Every time somebody mentioned their honor, I drank green tea. I also drank tea when uncle Iroh drank tea. Yes, there was a lot of tea involved in this. Can you blame me, though. TEA. ...and honor. They just go well together.

Since I sort of almost watched it all in one sitting, I had little time to reflect upon... stuff, but here's my first raw impressions: watching the characters grow was the sweetest thing. I love stories that start with all them fun and games and penguin sledding and then go on and rip your bloody heart out. This one here did just that. Everyone's older and wiser in the end - well, except for old people, they were already old and wise from the beginning - and the process was so diverse, like, some bloomed as if they were water lilies, some managed to go all the way from a thorn to a... more friendly and less thorn-y thorn (yes Zuko I'm looking at you).
...but that's pretty general, eh. I guess I should be more specific.
In the end, there was no character I didn't embrace, yes, even the annoying ones.
More to the point... Hm. Just some titbits that really stood out to me:
•uncle Iroh: perfect man is perfect.
•book one water: the northern air temple: adding rotten egg smell to gas so you can find the leak. I have no idea why it makes me so happy they added this little trivia bit to the show but it just does, 'k.
•everything ba sing se: it's a dystopia, for crying out loud! (ノ◕ヮ◕´
ノ*:・゚✧ A perfect little huge dystopia that tries it's best to look as utopia. I love meself some conspiracies. Not to mention book two earth the tales of ba sing se; it was really heartfelt and touching.
•some random fire nation troops at the very end: aw-w, sorry, dear, no one remembered your birthday.
One thing I don't get, though, is ship wars. I mean, I can ship pretty much anything with little to no evidence, but idk, while I was watching the show I didn't care about romantic relationships at all; I still don't. Eh, maybe I'm too old for this shit, maybe it's maybelline.
Oh, oh, and one more thing: I watched samurai jack countless times before atla and every single time uncle Iroh opened his mouth I expected to hear: "Long time ago, in a distant land, I, Aku, the shapesifting master of darkness..." /facepalm
I guess that's all I can say right now.
...oh, and I think I know what makes avatar: the legend of aang so darn good:

Oh, and this.
