Самое, на мой взгляд, интересное в The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, Альбукерке (не считая фотографий, до которых у меня до сих пор не доходят силы, увы): перечисление и описание разных методов пропаганды.
Propoganda! the power of lies
The dissemitation of information - facts, arguments, rumors, half-truth, or lies - to influence public opinion.

•Testimonial
The Testimonial is a vatiation of the transfer technique. By having a celebrity, athlete or other highly visible person support a point of view brings a great deal of attention to the cause even though the person giving the testimony may not have any real qualifications to speak as an expert. The hope is the people will come because of the notoriety of the speaker and in the process assume expertise.
•Simplification
The Simplification technique reduces complex situations into very simple sounding phrases, but in doing so underplays or covers up important details. It makes it easier to reduce conflict to situations of us vs. them. It is often used in stereotyping of other people by reducing a description of another group to very negative ideas,
•Faulty Cause and Effect
Faulty Cause and Effect and Logical Fallacies are similar techniques. As with other forms of simplification, these techniques reduce complex issues to the point that only a specific but failty logic will point to a single conclusion.
•Name Calling
Name Calling involves the use of derogatory language or words that carry a negative connotation when attached to an opponent. This technique attempts to arouse pre-existing opinions of the audience to create a prejudicial situation. As with simplification, this technique reduces complicated issues to very general and usually inaccurate descriptions and is often used to stereotype others.
tbc, это меньшая их часть, плюс небольшие примеры к каждому, но сейчас я пошла спать.
